How to Setup Ventrilo

part 1  basic install and server setup

1-Download Ventrilo client --   www.ventrilo.com

2-Run the install

3-Run the Ventrillo application (after this it gets more in depth)

4- Ventrillo is open...look at the top left side...User Name...click the arrow pointing to the right...a window pops up...click the New button then another window pops up...type in the name you would like others to see when you login.  click OK then click OK again make sure you select that name on the drop list now.

5- server setup...click the arrow pointing to the right on the side of server...the window pops up and click New...enter the name you want for the server as you will see it then click OK...put in the hostname we provided for you then the port and pasword (this information is on our Guild information page in game)  leave default blank and check all the boxes below that and click OK again.

You are now setup to be able to connect to whatever server you have listed

Part 2  setup for using mic and such...

1- On the right side towards the bottom click Setup...window pops up with tabs...you will only need the original Voice tab for this...left side there are 5 boxes...make sure the top 3 and checked...to set the push to talk button click in the white box nest to Hotkey then click the button you want to use and it will bind...now look on the left check the boxes for use direct sound and setup the devices to your speakers and microphone...or both to headset if you have one...then right below those is Mixer make sure you select a mixer here(usually the same as your input device)...below that are inbound and outbound amplifiers keep those at 0 for now, once you get it all working you can edit them as you see fit.

You should now be all setup to use vent if you have any problems contact one of the admins or higher ranked members of the guild they should be able to help you out.   :)   Have fun and go kill something!
